Performs highly complex professional administrative, policy and safety behavior analysis work. Work involves conducting organizational studies and evaluations, preparing operations and procedures manuals and systems to assist in ensuring agency is operating more safely and efficiently. May serve as lead worker for professional, technical and/or administrative employees. Work requires extensive contact with high-level executives, managers and governmental agencies. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Develops recommendations for improvement and/or corrective action to standardize or improve current processes or systems.Researches and interprets historical, current and projected data to identify problems, causes and areas where procedural or system changes are indicated.Serves as a project leader.Coordinates the analysis and review of behavioral trends and patterns that lead to incidents or injuries in the workplace.Evaluates the implementation of safety behavior support plans through personal observation, staff interviews, and review of documentation.Coordinates and participates in peer review committees related to safety.Advises and consults with management on department safety studies by identifying priorities and defining study scope, purpose, objectives, time frames, and resource requirements.Analyzes and evaluates business functions and activities and how those functions and activities may influence safety behaviors and outcomes ;monitors performance data to identify trends requiring intervention.Oversees studies of employee/organizational safe operating procedres and recommends changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures.Coordinates the collection and analysis of data for studies related to the assessment of workload, administrative practices, staff utilization, organizational structure, or space utilization; makes determinations regarding impact to safety behaviors and outcomes.Oversees the coordination of safety-related special projects of a non-recurring nature.Researches, plans, coordinates, recommends and develops programs, projects, activities or procedures to ensure safe operating procedures.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
