JOB SUMMARY

The Transportation Safety Analyst job is responsible for reviewing and processing documents, analyzing data related to the US Department of Transportation (DOT), and areas of focus related to driver behavior in a company vehicle or employees driving for the responsibility of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process documents, analyze data included in the driver qualification files, driver's daily logs, hours of service, vehicle collisions, drug and alcohol testing requirements, motor vehicle reports and other supporting reports, including but not limited to the DOT requirements.

  • Responsible areas include auditing and analyzing reports for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

  • Reviews, analyzes, effectively communicates, and follows up on information and reports pertaining to drive compliance, regulations, and process companywide.

  • Provides direction and guidance to field inquiries regarding compliance with DOT regulations, Apria policies and procedures, and driving behavior.

  • Evaluates and enters transportation safety related data into electronic data bases.

  • Creates, maintains, and ensures data related electronic files are entered systematically, accurately, and completely Ensures all communication, internal and external, are documented in a concise, professional, and timely manner Provides input and information regarding collision and safety information.

  • Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required.

  • At least one year of related experience is required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate (reading, writing, verbal)

  • Problem solving, analysis, and business acumen

  • Personal effectiveness, credibility, and accountability

Computer Skills

  • Basic skills in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Word, Outlook, and the Internet

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
